For the past three years ABATE Dist 6 has put on the Honoring Our Heroes Veterans Memorial Ride (HOH) to raise money for donation to the residents of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. The Vets home and staff do everything they can to care for our veterans but budgetary limitations are a fact of life. That’s where HOH comes in. The money raised through HOH benefits the vets directly to provide funds for everything from necessities -such as toiletries and clothing, to inessentials- such as outings for bowling or movies. The Clear Lake Dance Team is excited to announce our Annual GLO-RUN 5K Fundraiser! The run/walk will start at 8:30pm at the seawall by City Park in Clear Lake, Iowa. Registration will begin at 7pm. The route will take the runners down South Shore Drive, turning right at 1st Avenue to South Lakeview Drive, back to South Shore and finally to Pine Tree Park, then back to the finish line at the City Park seawall, staying on South Shore Drive the entire route back–to be exactly 5K. Registration is $25/runner and includes glo-products, and a Glo-Run T-shirt (to those who registered by Aug. 9th)! Children under age 5 are free but can purchase a T-shirt for $10.00, which must be pre-ordered. Additional shirts are available for purchase for $15.00 each as well.
